David H. Barr, MD

Dr. Barr grew up in Berkeley, California, and received his medical training at the University of California at San Francisco. He completed his residency in ophthalmology here at the University of Washington. He practices general ophthalmology and has a special interest in international ophthalmology. Dr. Barr is married and has two sons. He sees patients at our Northgate office.

Scot A. Brower, MD

Dr. Brower was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and received his medical training at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in ophthalmic research at the University of North Carolina. He specializes in disease and surgery of the retina and vitreous, as well as seeing general and surgical ophthalmology patients. Treatment of patients with diabetes is of special interest to him. Dr. Brower works out of our Seattle office, and also has clinic at our Kirkland office one day per week. Dr. Brower is married and has two sons.

Brant F. Carroll, MD

Dr. Carroll is a Seattle-area native. He received his medical degree from the University of Southern California, followed by a year of internal medicine training at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Carroll completed his ophthalmology training at the LSU Eye Center in New Orleans in 1996. Dr. Carroll practices comprehensive ophthalmology and refractive surgery out of our Ballard office. He is married and has one son.

K. David Epley, MD

Dr. Epley is from Salem, Oregon, and received hismedical training at the OregonHealth Sciences University. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Sinai and Johns Hopkins Hospitals in Baltimore. He was fellowship-trained in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at St. Louis Children's Hospital, part of Washington University in St. Louis. He specializes in comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, and sees patients at our Seattle, Kirkland, and Sedro Woolley offices. He is married and has two children.

R. Blair Evans, MD

Dr. Evans is originally from the Sacramento, California area. He received his medical training and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco. He then completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, Boston. Dr. Evans specializes in treatment of glaucoma, in addition to general ophthalmology and surgery. He sees patients in our Seattle and Kirkland offices. He is married and has three children.

Thomas Gillette, MD

Dr. Gillette specializes in diseases and surgery of the cornea and anterior segment of the eye. He was born in Cortland, New York, and received his medical training at the State University of New York. He completed residencies in ophthalmology at Washington Eye Center and New York University Medical Center and a fellowship in ocular immunology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Gillette has a large refractive surgery practice. He sees patients in our Seattle office. He has two sons.

J. Timothy Heffernan, MD

Dr. Heffernan is a fourth generation Seattle native and received his medical education and completed his residency at the University of Washington. He completed fellowships in oculoplastic surgery at LSU Eye Center in Louisiana and the Bascom Palmer Institute in Florida. Jeanna M. Hoyt, MD

Dr. Hoyt is a Seattle native who received her medical degree at the University of Washington. She completed her residency at The Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA before returning to Seattle to practice general ophthalmology. Dr. Hoyt enjoys caring for patients with diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, and contact lenses. Dr. Hoyt works out of our Ballard and Northgate offices. She is married and has one son.

D. Patrick Kelly, MD

Dr. Kelly is a native of Connecticut, where he received his undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut. He received his medical education in St. Louis, where he also did a one-year residency in internal medicine. He later did his ophthalmology residency in Milwaukee. He specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology with special interest in glaucoma, diabetes and refractive surgery. Dr. Kelly works out of our Seattle and Kirkland offices.

Anita Lam, OD

Dr. Lam was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Windsor, Ontario. She earned her Doctor of Optometry at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She gained additional ocular disease training through externships at Oschner Clinic in New Orleans, Center of Advanced Ophthalmic Care in Chicago, and at Veterans Hospitals in West Virginia and Detroit. She specializes in primary eye care, contact lens fitting, and co-management of ocular disease. She works out of our Ballard office.

Jim MacCarron, CO, COMT

A Certified Orthoptist (CO) and Certified Ophthamalmic Medical technologist (COMT), Jim has been with our practice since 2001 when he moved from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University, focusing on biology and anatomy. He completed his orthoptic training at the Izzac Walton Killam Childers hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Orthoptists specialize in the non-surgical treatment of visual disorders such as amblyopia, strabismus, and diplopia. In conjunction with ophalmologists, orthoptists formulate and implement treatment plans for visual disorders affecting eye movement, eye alignment, binocularity and visual acuity.

Brian R. McKillop, MD

Dr McKillop is a native of Seattle and graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine. He also did his Internship in Medicine and Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Washington. Following Residency he completed a Fellowship in Corneal and Anterior Segment Surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami. He sees patients for Refractive, Cataract and Anterior Segment Surgery at our Seattle Office.

Jerrol R. Neupert, MD

Dr. Neupert is a Seattle native and graduate of the University of Washington Medical School. His postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology was done at the Mayo Clinic. After two years as Chief of Ophthalmology at the Naval Submarine Medical Center, Groton, Connecticut, he returned to Seattle to private practice. Dr. Neupert's specialties are general ophthalmology, cataract and glaucoma surgery, and contact lenses. He and his wife, Jan, have two children. Dr. Neupert works out of our Seattle office.

Tuong T. Michael Nguyen, MD

Dr. Nguyen grew up in the Seattle area and received his undergraduate education at the University of Washington. He attended the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, John Hopkins Hospital, and a fellowship in vitreo-retina at the Oschner Clinic, New Orleans. Dr. Nguyen specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous, in addition to general ophthalmology and surgery. Dr. Nguyen works out of our Seattle office.

W. Mark Potampa, MD

Dr. Potampa is a Washington native. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy, served in Vietnam, and then returned to the University of Washington where he received his medical education. Dr. Potampa completed residencies in Oregon and Wisconsin, and has been in practice in the Seattle area since 1989. He specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery. Dr. Potampa is the primary physician in our Kirkland office.

Dennis D. Waltman, MD

Dr. Waltman grew up in Richland, Washington. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at LSU-New Orleans at Charity Hospital. He completed fellowships at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, Boston in External Disease, and Touro Infirmary, New Orleans in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery. He practices at the Kirkland office. He is married and has five children.

 

Timothy H. Tweito, MD

Dr. Tweito was born in Hutchinson, Kansas. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas, followed by an internship at the University of Florida. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at Ohio State University. He was fellowship trained in vitreoretinal diseases, laser procedures, and surgery at Ohio State University also. He sees patients in our Seattle and Ballard offices, focusing on the treatment of disorders such as diabetes, macular degeneration, and retinal detachments, among others. He is married, and his wife is also an ophthalmologist.

Krista A. Heidar, MD

Dr. Heidar grew up in the Pacific Northwest and received her medical degree from Loma Linda University in California. She did her internship at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio, and her residency in Ophthalmology at Loma Linda University. She completed her training with a surgical fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and eye motility disorders at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. She practices out of our First Hill and Kirkland offices, and specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and eye motility disorders.
